FIVE serving soldiers and 3 civilians died Saturday night when an army bus side-swiped a private bus along the Harare-Nyamapanda Road.
Lieutenant Munyaradzi Mushayamano, Public Relations Officer at the Headquarters 2 Infantry Brigade confirmed the tragedy in a statement on Sunday.
“A total of 8 people died on the 92 km peg along the Mtoko-Harare highway when a Zebra Kiss side swapped (sic) with an Army bus yesterday 28 April 2018 at around 1945hrs.
“The Zebra Kiss bus was going to Mutoko while the Army bus was heading towards Harare. The deceased include 3 civilians and 5 soldiers. Those who were injured were ferried to Mrewa Hospital.
“Details of the injured will be availed when their Next Of Kin have been advised,” he said.
