Africa Green Waste-Energy Expo rolls to life

The 9th Edition of the Africa Green Waste and Energy Expo and Conference kicks of today at The Business Hub/Harare Exhibition Park Robbies Mupawose Centre in Harare.

The high profile event runs from 28-30 October under the theme ‘A Zero Carbon, Climate Resilient Future; Setting The Stage for Transformation.’

Zim Sunshine Group will be hosting the three day event conference.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Honarable Mangaliso Ndlovu is expected to officiate the Green Expo and Conference.

Claris Mandoreba Zim Sunshine Group Head of Programmes spoke to Spotlight Online News Africa on the sidelines of the Green Expo.

“The Forum will be a showcased opportunity to present cutting-edge climate future from large corporations, start up, cities and stakeholders. There will be structured discussions around partnerships, local and regional solutions transfer, investment, policy changes and interventions needed to accelerate and scale up a climate innovative future,” she said.

Lauretta Marembo Executive Director YVE said the International obligations on Climate change Agenda provides opportunities for stakeholders to achieve goals through innovation.

“The adoption of Paris Agreement on Climate Change calls for an unprecedented effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions currently based on Nationally Determined Contributions(NDCs) providing a roadmap for a global transformation towards a zero carbon and climate resilient future. This therefore compels all stakeholders to come together to scale up innovation and climate action.”

The 9th Edition of the Africa Green Waste and Energy Expo and Conference is expected to be attended by delegates from Government Government of Zimbabwe, United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), International Labour Organization(ILO), MSF Representatives and Diplomats from Embassies.

There will be live/ virtual sessions streaming across the continent and globe. Panelists outside Zimbabwe will be joining from thier home countries.
