Preparations are underway to host the Africa Youth in Tourism Conference slated for October 10-12 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Grounds in Bulawayo.
The tourism event will run under the theme “Changing Africa’s Future by Accelerating Investment Capacity in Youth for Sustainable Tourism Development.”
Up to 22 African countries have so far confirmed their participation at the conference, which will be jointly organised by the Environment, Youth and Sports ministries.
According to acting Tourism minister Mangaliso Ndlovu, the upcoming conference will unpack opportunities in the tourism sector for youth development, share lessons and exchange ideas on how youths can invest in the tourism sector in Africa.
“It will be a platform that aims to use tourism as a vehicle for entrepreneurship and employment creation to help in livelihoods promotion and poverty alleviation in Africa,” Ndlovu said at a press briefing in Harare recently
