Bid to evade a road block by a Harare man in Bindura backfired for him after he failed to produce a police identity card.
The matter came to light at Bindura magistrates courts yesterday where Daniel Chibvongodze (29) appeared before magistrate Ethel Chichera.
The magistrate slapped Chibvongodze with $2000 fine failure to pay would earn him three months in jail.
The court heard that on Wednesday Chibvongodze was intercepted by police manning a roadblock along Bindura -Shamva highway and was asked to produce a driver’s license.
He lied to the officers that he was a cop working at Police general headquarters.
The police officers insisted that he should produce his police identity card but he failed leading to his arrest.
