INCONSISTENT premiership giants Highlanders fell 1-2 at home to Ngezi Platinum while Hardlife Zvirekwi helped Caps United to a 2-1 victory over Nichrut in two fixtures of Sunday’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer league matches.
At Barbourfields Stadium Ngezi surged ahead through Michael Charamba just after two minutes of the high profile encounter but striker Gabriel Nyoni levelled the scores two minutes later for the two sides to go to the break a goal apiece.
Bosso fell behind again to a Godknows Murwira goal deep in the second half to allow the visitors to bag the three points they desperately needed to keep abreast of log leaders FC Platinum who on Saturday had opened a seven point gap between them and their platinum mining cousins.
At the National Sports Stadium, Wisdom Mutasa needed just a minute of the match to put Caps United ahead with Zvirekwi scoring the second after 77 minutes.
Former Hwange player Farai Vimisayi scored the face saver for the Midlands side with just three minutes left of the encounter.
After Week 25 of the premiership round of matches played Saturday and Sunday, it is Highlanders who emerged empty handed from among the big three in the elite league.
Dynamos won their encounter Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Bulawayo City.
