BREAKING: Khupe recalled from parliament

By Staff Reporter

BATTLE lines are drawn between the MDC-T and its newest faction after the Nelson Chamisa led MDC-T has written to the Speaker of Parliament announcing the recall of former Vice President Thokozani Khupe.

Speaker of parliament Jacob Mudenda announced during session on Thursday that he was in receipt of a letter from the MDC-T informing him that Khupe was nolonger a member of MDC-T.

The MDC-T expelled the former Deputy Prime Minister last month following fierce leadership squabbles involving Khupe and Chamisa.

This followed Khupe’s refusal to recognise Chamisa’s leadership following the death of party leader Morgan Tsvangirai in February this year.

Chamisa, who together with Khupe were deputies to Tsvangirai, had moved faster than his colleagues to railroad party organs to declare him the new MDC-T leader.

Khupe, on her part, has since written to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission announcing she was the legitimate MDC-T leader.
