Car swept away in a flooded river

Six people died after a Toyota Hilux double cab they were traveling in got swept away by a flooded river in Gweru.

The past weeks have seen various parts of the country above normal rains causing disasters.

The unfortunate incident took place in the early hours of Sunday Monday 10th January 2021.

The car is said to belong to a mining company.

Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) is on record  warning motorists against crossing flooded rivers.

Meanwhile floods in Chiredzi have caused a dam wall to burst and some marooned villagers were rescued by the army.
