AMBITIOUS musician, engineer and businessman, Daniel Chingoma (50) is going ahead with plans to add the State presidency among his many jobs in the forthcoming harmonised elections.
Chingoma, who became known for designing and building a chopper which he was not allow to fly by authorities, revealed plans to run for the country’s most coveted job some years back through the formation of his Zimbabwe Industrial and Technological Revolutionary Party (ZITER).
He has since printed posters in the clearest signs he would want to take his ambitious to the highest level.
“My career as a President is to achieve true economic progress for the nation of Zimbabwe,” reads a message on his campaign poster.
The water pumps businessman is not new to controversy.
Among some of the events that have punctuated his life is his sensational eviction from the Harare Agricultural Showgrounds — where he had settled illegally.
When he launched he party, he embarked on one of the strangest campaigning strategies: His posters were exclusively put up in public toilets. He argued that since everyone uses the toilet, this only made sense.
