President E D Mnangagwa has with immediate effect ordered the suspension of ZESA Holdings Board that is led by Dr Sydney Tata as its Chairperson and the entirety of board members.
In a Government Presser the suspension is set to pave way for pending investigations relating to alleged corrupt scandals at the entity.
“The allegations leveled against the Executive Chairperson by the Honorable Minister of Energy and Power Development Advocate Fortune Chasi.Underlying corrupt activities bedeviling ZESA Board Members and Electricity Sector as a whole, ” reads the Government Gazette.
Meanwhile the President has also ordered Commissioner Loice Matanda Moyo Chairperson of Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission(ZACC) to probe into the affairs of the ZESA Board.
