Establishment of COVID-19 National Disaster calls for collective contribution

The establishment of COVID-19 National Disaster Fund by the government is expected to allow citizens to contribute in the fight against spread of the pandemic.

In a statement Minister of Finance and Economic Development Mtuli Ncube said the state of the global pandemic now calls for combined efforts from well wishers and corporate world to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

“The scale and seriousness of this pandemic calls upon all of us as Zimbabweans to put our foot forward and therefore wish to call upon all and implore our stakeholders to come forward with their contributions to the effort to the combat the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said.

The pandemic that has not find cure has brought havoc around the globe killing an estimate of 50 000 people from a total of 900 000 cases confirmed.
