Farmers are set to get 30 percent incentives for an early delivering of their maize to Grain Marketing Board(GMB). The move is set to mitigate food crisis across the country during the lockdown period.
The government announced this during a Post Cabinet Briefing held in the Capital.
“Cabinet considered and approved the payment of a 30% incentive to those farmers who deliver maize early to the Grain Marketing Board in order to maximize the delivery of maize.”
The incentive outweighs the producer price which had been earlier gazetted by the government.
“This is over and above the Maize Producer Price which was recently announced by Government.”
