The Government through Ministry of Finance and and Economic Development, will from 18th January 2020 hike fares for the Zimbabwe United Passengers Company (ZUPCO).
The move follows a review contacted by the Treasury amid Passenger Company made proposals through the the Ministry of Local Governments and Public Works.
According to a review letter issued by the Treasury on 13th January 2020 short distances (1-20KM) fares are gazetted at 30(ZWL$) from 16(ZWL) previously for busses. Distance covering 21-30KM will now go for 45(ZWL$) from from 24(45ZWL$) previously while 31-40 KM will be charged for 60(ZWL$) from 30(ZWL$) previously.
Commuter Omnibus 1-20 KM will be charged at 60(ZWL$) from 16(ZWL$) previously while 21-30 KM will go for 90(ZWL$)from the previous fares of 48(ZWL$).
