President Mnangagwa called upon the new agriculture policies and programs to be inclusive across the divide. He made the remarks on Wednesday during the launch of Agriculture and Food Systems Transformation Strategy at the 8th Annual National Agri-Business Conference.
The key populations to be incorporated in the latest agriculture programs include women, youth, people with disabilities among other.
“In all these programmes it is important that none is left behind especially women, youth, veterans of our liberation struggle and people with disabilities,” he said.
Gender inclusivity will be aligned towards new forms of economic empowerment. This include Plans establishment of livestock breeding community centers.
“To this end, and in our quest to further promote gender sensitive, inclusive and broad based economic empowerment, the Small Livestock component of the Recovery Plan has seen Goat Breeding and Improvement Centers being established in various communities.”
