The Minister of information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa has reiterated that Government is committed to work with journalists from both public and private media.
She made the remarks during the launch of “My Freedom of Information” campaign on Thursday. Inclusive engagement will be ideal in eliminating polarization within the media space.
“We want to work with everybody to remove polarisation, there is no public media and private media at the end of the day we are all people whole build this country.”
She also explained how the new media law will protect journalists in the midst of carrying out their duties. She sighted how female journalists are likely to benefit from the new Freedom Bill in terms of access to information.
“The new law protects journalists’ and I have them close to my heart because they are very essential”
“The new freedom bill campaign was designed to publicise the freedom of information act so that citizens especially women, girls and female journalists may begin to enjoy the law and assert their rights to access to information.”
