The launch of Institute of Risk Management Zimbabwe Regional Group has been described as a positive initiative that resonates government agenda to have the country attain upper middle class economy by 2030.
This was revealed by Permanent Secretary of Corporate Governance Unit Mr Willard Manungo during the launch of IRM Zimbabwe Regional Group today at a local hotel in the city.
“The aspirations of good risk management are consistent with our National Vision 2030 outlined by his Excellency, President Mnangagwa, the Vision provides for us the roadmap which is guiding the the nation “Towards a prosperous Upper Middle Class Income Society by 2030.”
“Vision 2030 is being implemented through the Transitional Stabilization Program over October 2018 to December 2020,this willbe followed by development strategies over 2021-2025 and 2026-2030.”
The government appreciate the launch of IRM Zimbabwe through its fundamentals relevant to embrace different sectors and stakeholders as the country moves in the journey to inculcate risk management values.
“We appreciate Institute of Risk Management Zimbabwe as it embarks on a timely and positive initiative that also attempts to embrace as many stakeholders in the journey towards inculcating risk management across various aspects of conducting business, this will also allow for the sharing of values among practitioners and experiences of global best practices, going forward.”
The launch of IRM Zimbabwe Regional Group is likely likely to spearhead activate participation and integration of public entities across the various sectors of economy on a large scale.
“This also include various state enterprises and parastatals that are involved in many sectors, such as energy, water, transport, information communication technology, finance, mining, agriculture, timber and forestry.”
