Just in: Govt response to MDC legislators abductions

Government has responded to the abductions of MDC’s trio legislators who went missing during a political which took place in Warren Park.
In a Press Release issued this Friday evening by Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Honorable Monica Mutsvangwa, the Government noted with concern the missing of Johana Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova and the government purports to have traced details unfolding since the incident.

“The three women were part of a group of MDC youths that defied the lockdown demonstration in Warren Park Harare.Whilst the police were looking for them, social media charter indicating that the three had disappeared was observed.”

According to the Government, ZRP learnt of the trio’s whereabouts as they were suspected to be located at Muchapondwa Business Centre in Bindura. Promises to investigate the matter.

“On the night of the 14th the Police were informed that three suspects had been located at Muchapondwa Business Centre in Bindura.Investigations are currently underway to establish what transpired to the three women from the three women from the time they left the demonstration up to the point they were reportedly picked up from at Muchapindwa Business Centre.”

In the midst of investigations indications are that, the government will uphold constitutional mandates against the trio if found guild.

“Government will uphold the law and constitutional safeguards contained therein, and if any law has been broken, the law will be enforced.”
