Staff Reporter

Minister of Home Affairs and National Heritage Kazembe Kazembe dismissed allegations that security forces are threatening to harass members of the public ahead of the scary demos slated for 31st July.

Kazembe Kazembe made the remarks during Wednesday’s Parliamentary Debate Session. Legislators were seeking clarity after gathering rumors from their respective electorates that security personnels warned them of the planned demos.

“There is nothing like that happening where we have police threatening members of the public, that is outside my knowledge, i am only hearing from you. I would respond to it wants it get to my attention in my office,” he said

Meanwhile the purported demonstrations has invited mixed reactions among members of the public. Simultaneously the government is also planning to tighten Lockdown Restriction Measures in the wake of escalation of COVID-19 cases.
