PG Industry Zimbabwe Donates to Children’s Home in Hatcliffe

 

In a quest to ameliorate living conditions of the needy and vulnerable communities, PG Industries Zimbabwe (PGIZ) has maintained its social responsibility when it unveiled  donations worth thousands of dollars to an orphanage last week in Hatcliffe.

Hossana Love in Africa Childrens Home located in the periphery of one down trodden high density suburb of Hatcliffe received the donation in the form of building materials comprising of glass, putty, thinners, standard doors locksets, window sills and bags of cement.

Speaking during the handover ceremony PGIZ Group Head of Sales and Marketing, Phoebe Wei, reiterated that the Group Company had an obligation to fulfil in extending a hand to the vulnerable and the needy in the society adding on the importance of shelter and education.

“I am very honoured, on behalf of PG Industries Zimbabwe Shareholders and Staff, to be able to present a donation to the Children’s Home and Hossana Primary school.  As an organization we fully understand what the children need and hope. And we also understand what shelter and education means for them. The Zimbabwe nation’s hope relies on children and children’s hope relies on proper care and education.”

The orphanage at present has 24 children with the capacity to accommodate more at the established premises that has a primary school block, hall and house built of imported Chinese modern building materials.

It is in this regard that the PGIZ Group Head of Sales & Marketing emphasized on the importance of the donation saying this will go a long way in paving way for the construction of the remaining classroom blocks and other infrastructure relevant for children’s education.

“I am happy to be able to present today a donation of building materials: Glass, Putty, Thinners, Standard Doors, Locksets, Window Sills, and Bags of cement.  We hope the donation will go a long way in completing the building of the classroom.”   “We are grateful for the teachers’ efforts in making sure the children are kept clean, feed and happy. This will create an environment for the children to learn and grow their talents and fit into society. This will also contribute to a brighter future for all the children as every child is precious.”

The Group Marketing Executive went on to ensure that going into the future PGIZ will continue to honour its obligations in rendering handful support to the Children’s Home.

“As PGIZ we shall continue to honor our social responsibility in extending our hand towards the needy and vulnerable, it is our fervent hope to continue pouring a unwavering support to Hosanna Love in Africa Children’s Home .”

Hossana Love in Africa Childrens Home Director, Abel Chivambo, expressed excitement at the donations which the orphanage received from the corporate giant saying the positive development came amid thier children’s home received support from the Zimbabwe Chinese Business Association.

“On behalf of Hosanna Love in Africa Children’s Home I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the donations unveiled to us by PG Industries.  The building materials received will surely make a difference. I would also like to thank the Zimbabwe Chinese Business Association for their unwavering support given to us.”
