Public in reluctant mood on COVID-19 preventive measures

While the globe is still battling the deadly pandemic, COVID-19, members of the public in the country are still acting ignorantly in enhancing preventive measures to contain the disease.

A survey conducted this morning by Spotlight Online News at different places of Harare’s Central Business District indicate that most people are still reluctant to uphold preventive measures.

This is despite the government directive in barring massive gatherings and subsequent media awarenesses raised so far.

On daily basis, people are still queuing for money in the banks, public shops intensifying panic buying and sometimes gathering for no apparent reasons.

This news publication also noted the vendors and money-changers constituting the largest mass gatherings in the CBD.

The current public stans is in no hesitation to what befell Zororo Makamba who died of COVID-19.

COVID-19 is spread through coughing at a close distance, close contact between people and the government has been urging members of the public to limit frequent visits, embark on self quarantine, upholding basic hygiene principles, frequent use of sanitizers.

Meanwhile Zimbabwe’s COVID-19 cases has risen to three with tests conducted frequently in order to manage the situation.
