Republican strikes first challenge on Biden’s Victory

Congressional Republicans lodged their first objection to President-elect Joe Biden’s victory as the chambers met today  in a joint session to certify the results.

President Donald Trump, in an address to thousands of supporters gathered in Washington, DC, vowed to “never concede” while decrying Congressional Republicans who don’t plan to object to the election results.

Some Republicans in both the Senate and House have said they will object to certifying the results in at least three states, in a last-ditch attempt in support of President Donald Trump that is all-but-assured to fail.

Democrat Raphael Warnock is the projected winner of one Georgia Senate runoff race and Democrat Jon Ossoff is leading the other, setting up Democrats to take control of the chamber.
