South Africa’s Home Affairs Minister has announced that the government will be deploying high patrols along Limpopo River inorder to chase away illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe.

The announcement comes amid the SA President Cyril Ramaphosa recently announced level 3 Lockdown for the Southern African country.

On the other hand, the development came after reports that most Zimbabwean nationals were crossing into South Africa illegal with the majority found in possession of fake documents.

According to ENCA News, the Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Pakishe Aaron Motsoaledi went about the Mussina Boarder Post where he noticed some Zimbabwean illegal immigrants trying to make thier way to South Africa.

In an interview the Dr Pakishe Aaron Motsoaledi warned the illegal immigrants where the SA Government will immediately send helicopters and boats to be on patrols along the Limpopo River.

“A person entering your country with a fraudulent document, he will be undermining your sovereignty and we cannot just allow that. I have given an instruction to return them back home. Soliders, helicopters will be on patrol around the boarder area.”

Some of the illegal immigrants have been returned for lacking necessary documents on COVID-19.
