President Emerson Mnangagwa has called for collective based research approaches blended with technological innovations to enhance productivity in Agricultural Sector.

He made the remarks on Wednesday while launching Agriculture and Food Systems Transformation Strategy at the 8th Annual National Agric-Business Conference.

“I urge the Livestock sub-sector to purposefully collaborate towards enhanced research and development, knowledge transfer and the growth of a livestock value chain industry targeted for the export markets,” he said.

Blending uses of smart technologies and indigenous knowledge systems is ideal in overcoming the adversities of climate related challenges. Climate change adaptation is also key in achieving a resilient society.

“Let us strive to achieve an intricate balance between new technologies and our existing indigenous knowledge systems. In the face of climate change we must continue to strengthen the resilience and adaptability of our communities to changing weather patterns and environmental shocks.”
