US President Donald Trump will be continuing with plans to overturn the election. This comes amid a growing coalition of Republican senators vows to avert formal certification of Joe Biden, the President Elect.
Despite Trump having a pull of allies, indications are that the plan will suffer a demise.
This is due to Wednesday’s joint session of the congress where the Congress gathers to count electoral college votes already certified by each state.
Since Biden’s victory late last year, Trump has been vocal dismissing Biden’s victory citing electoral fraud.
A group of 11 Republican senators and senators-elect, led by Ted Cruz of Texas, vowed to join Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) in challenging votes from some contested states, calling for an “emergency 10-day audit” to investigate Trump’s unfounded claims. Hours later, Trump wrote on Twitter that there would be “plenty more to come.”
