The World Alliance Boxing Association has named it’s middleweight title after Zimbabwean boxer Charles Manyuchi.
Manyuchi who was recently appointed WABA Global Goodwill Ambassador for his role in championing the promotion of boxing in Zimbabwe and Africa will have the WABA Supreme Middleweight Title named the “Ambassador Charles Manyuchi Belt”.
” This is in recognition of Ambassador Charles Manyuchi’s historical victory on July 3rd, 2021 in Masvingo, Zimbabwe when he became the first boxer to ever win the WABA Supreme World Title,” said WABA president Onesimo Ngowi.
” WABA appreciates the role that Ambassador Charles Manyuchi has been playing and will collaborate with him to promote the sport of boxing around the world.”
WABA has also named the “WABA East & Central Africa Super Lightweight Title” the Issa Salumu Title in recognition of the Tanzanian’s historic win of the Championship.
