Warriors in driving seat

Hat trick hero, and Highlanders marksman Prince Dube, has added his name to the Zimbabwe soccer calendar chats who scored 3 goals as Zimbabwe beat Mauritius at Barbourfields Stadium, on Sunday, to advance to the final round of the 2020 CHAN qualifiers.

The Warriors won the match ended 3-1 in favour of Zimbabwe to progress on a 7-1 aggregate victory.

The visitors started well & grabbed an early lead in the 3rd minute through Andrew Aristide who caught Zimbabwe’s defence flatfooted.

The home team regrouped to snatch victory through the Highlanders striker’s well-taken goals and the Warriors will now face Lesotho in the final qualifying round in September.
The Crocodiles reached the stage after beating South Africa 6-2 on aggregate.

Apart from warriors, the league games played last week, Friday, Yadah lock horns with Mushowani Stars at Rufaro Stadium and the match ended 1 nil in favour of Mashonaland Central based side.
The “Tiki- Taka” boys got their goal in the 30th minute when Clemence Zimhondi put Mushowani Stars in the lead after nice build up.
On Saturday, Caps United square off and FC Platinum played to a goalless draw at Mandava Stadium, Saturday.
The visitors set the pace in the opening minutes of the game, dominating the possession, but the Pure Platinum Boys soon picked up their tempo and got the first attempt on minute 7 when Evidence Tendayi ‘s effort was saved by the keeper.
Rodwell Chinyengetere and Keith Madera also got opportunities but failed to reach the target.
Makepeke only came close on goal after the half-hour mark when Dominic Chungwa fluffed a golden opportunity inside the box.

Ronald “Rooney” Chitiyo followed up on the stroke of halftime when he came face to face with the keeper but Rainsome Pavari’s well-timed interception saved the day for FC Platinum.

The second half saw Caps United getting much of the play in the middle park but failing to penetrate the hosts’ backline. Their only threatening effort came early in the period when Joel Ngodzo’s strike went straight into the hands of the keeper.

At Rufaro Stadium, Dynamos and Triangle United drew one all . The visitors got their goal on the half- hour from a long range volley by Trevor Mavhunga and silenced the Dembare fans.
The Sugar Boys broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark through Trevor Mavhunga but the advantage was cancelled out 9 minutes later by Godknows Murwira who equalised after his free-kick deflected off Donald Dzvinyai.
The visitors could have grabbed the lead again in the second half but Allan Tavarwisa’s header hit the post.

Ngezi Platinum “ Madamburo” continued with their steady rise up the league with a deserved two nil triumph over Harare City courtesy of Barnabas Mushunje and Donald Teguru’s first half goals.

Black Rhinos “ Chauya Chipembere”, also beat Manica Diamonds 2 nil at Vhengere Stadium , while ZPC Kariba dismissed Hwange 2-1 at Nyamhunga Stadium.

Bulawayo Chiefs clash with Herentials and the match ended nil all.
