Zimbabwe has shown a significant improvement in fighting Tuberculosis through various initiatives over the recent times.
This came to light during the CHALLENGE TB Close Out Ceremony event held late last week in the Capital.
“I want to focus on key activities that have been pioneered in Zimbabwe which can be an example for the rest of the world really. There are some activities which you have done that none of the other 23 countries have done.”
“Many countries have collected samples which were not TB related but Zimbabwe have done well which I think other countries should emulate from you,” says Dr Emmy van der Grinten Deputy Project Director Challenge TB.
A lot of activities in Zimbabwe were spearheaded by western diner funds which Health Minister complimented the Western countries for the continued support.
“On behalf of the Government of Zimbabwe, allow me to acknowledge the generosity of the people of America and the entire donor community. The project may have come to an end but the fight against TB continues,” he said.
